Orly Nail Rescue Bond Repair Serum

by Nicole Collins

I’ve said it before, and I’ll say it again.  If you and I have met at any time in the last 25 years, you didn’t see my natural nails.  I’ve had polish on my nails for 25 straight years. I don’t do falsies. No shade as I clearly love a manicure.  I have just always had painted fingernails and am too commitment phobic, I guess, for anything else right now.  Of course, I started by painting my own nails with my sorority sisters while watching The (original) Bachelor, and then I got hooked on inexpensive manicures (and pedicures obviously) at the local salon.  For the last two decades, I’ve painted my own nails between bi-monthly salon visits.  Painting my own nails between appointments, thus cutting down on salon visits, has saved me thousands of dollars.  Girl math.

I know this puts me in the minority when it comes to gals who always have their nails done because most of the girlies in that category are doing some sort of gels or falsies. What we all have in common, though, is that our nails take a little beating for always looking great.  We end up with brittle nails and, or some discoloration depending on how often you let your nails breathe.

You can either go into full repair mode and add a coat of this daily for 14 days (or more as needed) to heal and restore damaged nails.  You’ll end up with healthy strong nails ready for any manicure your little heart desires! This is an absolute must have if you’ve damaged your nails.

If you’re like me and you don’t want to go a day without a manicure, then you can use this as step one in your manicure routine.  Put this on before your base coat or before your gels, and it will extend the length of your manicure and leave you less damaged when you remove your gorgeous color.  Just like you put serum on your face and body, this serum is a crucial step in your maintenance routine and uses a bio-active quad complex to strengthen your nails.  It features AHA to smooth nails plus PHA to condition and maintain flexibility plus biotin for strong nails plus marine silicium to enhance durability.

Bring this into your nail salon for your nail tech to use.  In all likelihood she’ll already have it in her arsenal as Orly is one of the most popular and beloved nail treatment and varnish brands in the world.  I’m sure you’ve seen it at your local salon if you haven’t already used it yourself.  The founder of Orly, Jeff Pink, actually invented the French Manicure. He’s a legend in the industry and has been putting out amazing products since 1975.

I digress.  For the last month, I’ve been using the Serum as a step one.  I follow it up with Orly’s Nail Retouch Smooth & Blur.  This is my base coat but it can also be worn on its own if you’re going for a no manicure, manicure look to complement your no makeup makeup look.  Cool girls go easy on color in the summer, right?  I love this vegan formula because it’s got lemon extract to brighten nails (mine are always discolored) plus a fermented complex and antioxidants to protect nails.

You really could do just these two steps and look great all summer.  I usually add some color, of course, but that’s me.

Hope you adore these truly epic Orly goodies as much as I do.  Slide into my DMs to let me know what you think and, or to tell me what nail products you swear by!  Find me on IG @collinsinla
