Revive: Moisturizing Renewal Cream Nightly Retexturizer + Moisturizing Renewal Oil

by Dawn McCoy
You’re gonna wanna take notes.
I was a makeup artist in the 00s and am a TV host and writer today. Plus, I’ve been a beauty devotee for most of my life, so it takes A LOT for skincare products to make an impression on me.
I have been collecting my favorite products and beloved brands like precious Barbie dolls in a Barbie dream house since I was 13 years old in 1991 when Allure was founded and became my beauty “Bible”.

From studying Allure and hosting makeovers for my friends in high school and college, I went on to become Trish McEvoy’s youngest makeup artist at 19 years old. I worked at her counter at Neiman Marcus Northpark (the beauty Mecca of Texas) after Trish herself plucked me from one of her beauty dinners at the Zodiac Room to work on her team.

I went from doing formal makeup applications for friends in the University of Texas Kappa Kappa Gamma house to becoming a national artist in one night, and that was probably the most exciting thing that has happened to that little Dallas girl to date.
I learned so much from working at Neiman’s in my summers and holidays while still a college co-ed, and it launched a career that covered working as an artist and counter manager with Bobbi Brown Cosmetics and Armani Beauty to creating a lipstick glossary for Barbra Streisand when I was her personal shopper in the ‘00s to starting a beauty & lifestyle blog called BeautyFrosting in 2012. It all led me to where I am today.
Quite simply, I LOVE beauty.
As someone who is frequently on camera, I need beauty that loves me right back. So, why the history lesson here?
Because I want you to know that it takes a lot for beauty products to get me excited. It has to be something different, and it has to feel good on my skin and make me really look better. Period. After all, there are only so many rooms left to be filled in my Barbie dream house of beauty.

Long before glassy skin was in, that’s all I wanted in my skincare. I knew that the more moist my skin looked and felt after application, the more hydrated and healthy my skin would be.
(Don’t let anyone try to tell you anything different, kiddos.)

I first tried Revive Skincare back in 2006 when I was living in Nashville and working with Armani, and I knew it was different because I could actually FEEL my skin virtually applauding when it was applied. With its intense hydration, it gave me that glassy, glossy look that a lot of skincare wasn’t focused on back then. I have remained a faithful devotee, always trying any new products as they’ve launched and reserving special dedicated space for a few of my favorites, including their iconic Moisturizing Renewal Cream Nightly Retexturizer and their supple Moisturizing Renewal Oil.

The Moisturizing Renewal Cream Nightly Retexturizer is an iconic overnight treat of a cream that uses their signature bio-renewal peptide and glycolic acid to deliver proven and (more importantly) VISIBLE results while we enjoy a good night’s sleep. We’re talking a velvety cream that removes dead skin cells while you dream, leaving your skin more luminous with fewer fine lines to boot.
I am a multitasker, and I love a product that multitasks too.

And don’t take just my word for it. In their clinical trials, the feedback was unbeatable.

  • 109% increased skin moisture after one use
  • 100% saw skin texture greatly improved and saw much much smoother skin
  • 97% agree fine lines softened
  • 97% agree skin looks brighter, healthier, and hydrated
  • 94% agree skin looks more youthful
  • 91% agree skin looks much better after just 1 use

Wow, wow, wow. I knew I was in good company.

My one rule when it comes to skincare is this. Your skin should never feel dry. That’s what causes dullness. You should aim to keep your complexion hydrated and thus plumped throughout the day and night.

And, anyone who knows me will tell you that I’m a big fan of beauty oils.  In fact, the first question I find myself asking friends and readers when they complain about their lackluster skin is, “Are you regularly using an oil on your face?”. 100% of the time they say no because our generation was so erroneously brainwashed against any kind of oil in skincare products. One of the biggest crimes against the Clinique & Cover Girl-coveting girls of the ‘80s and ‘90s, if you ask me.

I just always inherently knew that oil was a good thing when it came to skincare.
And Revive’s Moisturizing Renewal Oil is extra good. With squalene at the center of its hydrating complex that also includes Sweet Almond, Meadowfoam, Grape, Evening Primrose, and Rosehip Seed Oils (as well as a unique biomimetic lipid blend), your skin is left hydrated, nourished and more youthful looking.

Used as a team, these two products (the marriage of moisturizer and oil) are a force of beauty to reckon with, maximizing the moisture of your skin while leaving you with an undeniable glow.

Look, I know luxe, high-quality skincare may feel like a splurge at first. But when you see your skin’s grateful response to your new regimen filled with new products, the only regret you’ll have is that it took you so long to figure it out. So, go ahead, live a little. Invest in yourself. And invest in your own little Barbie dream house of cherished beauty products. We are all just Barbie girls living in a Barbie world, after all.
