U Beauty: Resurfacing Compound

Resurfacing Compound

On my podcast, Gloss Angeles, it’s not a surprise when a guest recommends U Beauty’s Resurfacing Compound. From actresses to jewelers to founders and other podcasters, everyone shares rave reviews of this product. Which goes a long way — at $148 for 30 ml, it’s a “beauty investment” as we like to call it on the pod, but there’s a reason it’s widely beloved by people of all ages.

Tina Chen Craig is amongst the who’s who here in Hollywood. (Although she now lives in Texas.) I had heard about her initially in work circles, of course, as BagSnob — an OG fashion blogger with great taste. But I didn’t realize how large or influential of a reach she had until I saw her at Kathy Hilton’s house ahead of a screening of Real Housewives of Beverly Hills a few years back.

Craig created U Beauty to streamline what can often be a complicated skincare routine, especially for women looking to help mitigate the aging process. I know, I know: we all age, it’s inevitable, and “anti-aging” as a term has been banned from plenty of sites. But women want to look and feel their best, and sometimes that includes smoothing a wrinkle or brightening your skin tone. The Resurfacing Compound is meant to help with four key skin issues we encounter more of when we age: fine lines, blemishes, discoloration and uneven texture.

This one product includes several big-hitting ingredients, like vitamin C, retinol, hydroxy acids, vitamin E and antioxidants. I know you may be thinking, “I’ve heard from (X skinfluencer) whom I follow that I should not mix all these actives together!” Yes, you would be correct. You should not mix them together — don’t play cosmetic chemist at home. Leave the formulations to the experts, like U Beauty. Formulations are important, and this one is not only gentle (no burning, no stinging) but it provides results so that you want to continue to keep using it.

The reviews on the website range from “I don’t miss a day… my skin has never looked better” to “This is the only product I have tried that changed my skin overnight.” Plus, a majority of these reviews are from women 30-60, so it’s not like children are promoting a product very obviously being marketed to turn back time. (I hate when brands do that.)

U Beauty’s Resurfacing Compound is a holy grail skincare product. If you pick it up, I’d love to know how your skin takes to it. I have a feeling you’re not going to want to be without it.
